Load Cells

Load cells come in a great variety as they are needed to perform highly and reliably in all varieties of Cardinal Scale’s weighing equipment. Cardinal Scale’s load cells are manufactured in a variety of styles and weight capacities, with strain gauges for analog or digital scales or hydraulic load cells for Guardian brand scales. Cardinal Scale’s load cells come in four designs: tension, compression, shear beam, and double-ended shear beam styles. The capacities of these load cells range from weighing a patient in a doctor’s office to a load of timber being carried in a large commercial vehicle while providing the accuracy needed by NTEP, OIML, Measurement Canada and other governing bodies. Cardinal Scale’s load cells are generally made of resilient stainless steel to avoid corrosion and damage due to moisture. Most of Cardinal Scale’s load cells are hermetically-sealed for extra protection against the elements, while Cardinal Scale’s Guardian® hydraulic and SmartCell® digital feature either potting or no electrical components to preclude damage from water and sediment.
